I don't think it did that bad for a cheerleading movie LOL
Currently, FU grossed a rough $13,360,000, all in the US, none forreighn releases so far
that makes it
currently the at the 10th position in the box office
currently the 24th best opener of 2009
currently the 7th best released PG13 movie in 09
currently the 22nd best seen film in 2009
its currently at NO 10 at the BO's ..which is really not too bad if you look at it..its a cheerleading movie ...doesn't have any of the funky gizmo's like some of the things its up against ...
it has grossed a little under 13.5 mils so far...not too bad for a cheerleading movie at all
You have to look at these things into perspective ... lets compare to ..oh lets say "Bring it On" -- which is per definition the reference point when it comes to cheerleading movies
In all its 134 days into cinemas, BIO grossed $90,449,929 ... of which
$68,379,000 - US
$22,070,929 - forreign
of which it gathered 25% in its opening weekend
Ofcourse, FU isn't gonna do as well as BIO... but you have to concidder the aspect that BIO is, in its own right as a cheerleading movie, a monument in its kind (...some might dissagree...but like we said before, if there are movies to be compared with cheerleading movies..people are gonna bring forth BIO)
so if you then look that FU hasn't even gotten a forreign release (yet?), that its been on for only 17 days, that a lot less people these days actually GO to the movies AND that it has grossed 13,360,000 ATM (which is about 15 % of BIO's total gross in its total release time in cinemas)...then as a movie in these lines of movies...it has not "flunked" but has done relatively well
kudos ...or ..well.Go team! LOL
just some info (and yes..I did do the math myself haha)
ps: got the info from boxofficemojo.com
Well, I know usually the way you realize whether or not a movie did okay is if it's at least made back it's budget. Fired Up cost 20 million to make (which is weird because BIO only cost 10 million), and it hasn't reached that yet even though it's been out for two weeks. It costs probably a couple other million to promote and distribute, so as long as it makes back it's budget eventually, it won't be too bad. But it is considered a big flop, not to be mean or anything, I don't think it will greatly affect Danneel's career. At least she's out there!
I just watched Fired Up! crappy cam version but hey, anything for Danneel! loved it!

I wonder just how much of that my friend and I contributed. We went a little crazy when that movie was out, and every time we were bored we'd go see it again - for a total of seven times! haha
I still need to see "Fired Up" once. :ermm:
